Integrated imaging navigation systems (such as O-arm machines) are increasingly being used in orthopedic spine, trauma, and neurosurgery. The operating table, as the core basic equipment for the imaging path and patient positioning, its structure, function, and installation quality directly affect the imaging acquisition accuracy of the navigation system and the safety during the operation.
The operating table must meet the following key requirements:
1. Surface material requirements
Use a fully carbon fiber transparent table top (radiolucent Table Top)
Low X-ray attenuation rate to ensure consistency of 3D imaging
The supporting structure must not obstruct the scanning path
2. Mobility of the tabletop
It must have a wide range of horizontal movement (≥ 300 mm) to facilitate the precise positioning of the target spinal segment at the center of the O-arm scanner
It should also have the functions of lateral sliding, longitudinal sliding and fine adjustment
3. Requirements for the position of the pillar
The pillar should be placed at the head side or the tail side offset position.
It is prohibited for the pillar to be located at the waist area to avoid blocking the O-arm scanning trajectory.
4. Compatibility Requirements
The operating table must comply with the interface standards of the O-arm manufacturer. The base structure of the operating table must meet the requirements for the movement of the O-arm (standard passageway is 700–800 mm wide)
